Corner Protectors Review

My 11 month old daughter is officially on the move! She is a crawling professional and is picking herself up on anything and everything. As most parents know that means, bring on the bumps and bruises. This also means that baby proofing is in full effect. The corners of furniture are always a hazard when it comes to children, even at older ages, which I can attest to with a 5 year old who still hurts himself on furniture. So I guess I was also kid proofing! Even when I was a child, around 8 or so, I fell and hit my head on the corner of our entertainment center and ended up in the ER with quite a few stiches. Hence, corner protectors are important!

These specific corner protectors are just “ok.”  They are super cute looking and I love the glow in the dark spots on them. Also, they are very easy to apply. The pack also comes with two door stops so fingers don’t get slammed in the door. The door stops are great, they serve their purpose. However, I have found a few faults in the corner protectors. First off, they are pretty thin. If one of my kids did fall on them, it might slightly cushion their fall, but they would still get hurt pretty bad. Second, the adhesive is not very strong. It stuck on easily, but within a few days my daughter was able to rip them off. So, although these corner protectors were stylish and appealing to the kids, I have had better ones that also look nice, but are much thicker, therefore a better cushion for a fall.

Mosquito Bracelet Review

My family and I used to live in an area that was heavily developed and populated and we never had to deal with mosquitos. About a year and a half ago we moved to a new house in a more rural area. The subdivision we live in is surrounded by trees and our rear neighbors are dense woods. We love to be outside, especially late afternoon when it is cooler outside here in Florida. We love to go for walks, have bonfires and just play in the backyard. The only problem is the mosquitos. They are everywhere and eat us alive when we are outside. Bug spray works, but I hate the way it makes your skin feel and the smell. I feel the need to take a shower and give my kids a bath as soon as we go inside to wash the nasty bug spray off of us. When I saw this product I knew I had to try it. If it works it would solve our mosquito and bug spray problem!

We got to try them out for the first time of New Year’s Eve. We decided to stay home with the kids this year and have a bonfire with smores and let off fireworks. As expected the mosquitos were out in full force. Normally my kids give me a hard time about being sprayed with bug spray because they hate it as much as I do. They were actually excited about wearing these bracelets because they were so cute and have small character charms that are very colorful. The bracelets smell great too! The best part, they actually work! The aroma that the essential oils give off must be enough to detour the mosquitos away. My kids didn’t have one mosquito bite on them and we didn’t feel the need to immediately wash off when we came inside. This was a mommy win in my books! I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to keep the bugs away without the bad smells, sticky feeling and harsh chemicals that come from using traditional bug spray.
